As the founder and creator of Success Meals KC™, Todd Markley has more than a little bit of experience in the world of fitness and nutrition. Todd’s passion for the fitness industry began in his early twenties. Owning a gym, personal training and even competing himself in national bodybuilding championships were all part of his beginning of living a “fitness focused” life.
During his personal training years Markley worked with a myriad of different people. The one common thread he noticed among all these people was that while they shared a commitment to fitness and the desire to be lean and toned few were actually making steady progress toward their eventual goals. Todd knew his clients were working hard in the gym, so he began to question these people about their lifestyle and nutrition habits.
One thing he repeatedly noticed was that despite their commitment to exercise they left their nutritional needs to chance. Markley began to delve further into this quandary. He knew these people were nutrition savvy, they understood the importance nutrition played on attaining their goals, so why were they neglecting this one vital component? What he soon realized was that while his clients were willing to take greater responsibility for their health, convenience remained the key driver in their dietary choices. Time constraints made it difficult for them to make food decisions that were nutritionally based. As a result, they were making poor food choices and even skipping meals altogether in an attempt to keep up with the hustle and bustle of today’s fast paced lifestyle. Markley knew that for his clients to be successful he would have to find a way to simplify eating healthy. It was at this point that the answer became inevitably clear. To ensure that his clients received the precise nutrients, in the right amounts and at the right times, was to do it for them. And thus was the inception of providing Kansas City with their first fresh diet delivery experience.
Fourteen years later Todd continues to work personally with clients using his experience in the food industry and expertise in nutrition to provide healthy and manageable meal solutions for those struggling to meet their health and body weight goals as well as those who are looking for a convenient means of providing their mind and body with optimal nutrition.
Mark Mooney‘s lifelong culinary passion began at an early age in his native Southern California. At only 13 he began working at his grandfather’s restaurant washing dishes and eventually working his way up to cooking on the line. During this time, Mark absorbed everything he could about the food industry by working next to his grandfather during weekends and summers until he graduated from high school in 2000.
Eager to experience and learn more about the finer points of upscale cuisine Mark enrolled in the world-renowned Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in California where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts. After graduating, Mark made the move to the gourmet dining mecca of Las Vegas, where he further honed his culinary skills working in the highly acclaimed "Peppermill" restaurant, one of the few stand-alone restaurants still located on the Las Vegas strip.
Over the next 9 years Mark acquired vast culinary experience by working in some of the most celebrated restaurants in Las Vegas-and adjacent to some of the greatest chefs in the World. While Mark was beginning to make a name for himself as one of Vegas‘ up and coming chefs his desire to start a family outweighed his desire for the glitz and glamour of Vegas, so in February of 2009 Mark and his wife Alissa decided it was time to trade in the bright lights of Sin City for the serenity, safety and beauty of the Heartland. With Alissa’s family residing in Kansas City and the strong values Midwesterners inherently have, they decided that Kansas City was the place to be.
Shortly after arriving to Kansas City Mark took a sous chef position at Success Meals KC. Noticing his talents and passion for healthy and gourmet cuisine it didn’t take long for Mark to move up the ladder in our organization. By May of 2011 Mark was given the position of Executive Chef of Success Meals KC.
Since his youth, Todd Renaud has been involved in health and fitness through sports, both as a stand out high school and collegiate athlete as well as a coach, and still today Todd remains very involved in athletics.
With over 18 years of sales and customer service experience , most recently medical device sales, Todd brings to us a passion for a healthy lifestyle, his business savvy and his commitment for doing whatever it takes to make sure our clients remain extremely satisfied with our services. Todd’s ability to engage our clients on a personal level lets each of them know that their story matters, their goals are important and that they are part of our Success Meals family.
